Holy Crap!

Wow, I'm so sick of making decisions and trying to be the grown up! Is it horrible that I'm not even a mommy yet, and I'm completely bad at it? LOL. So today was one of those days where I needed to just get stuff done. I started off my morning at the District Office. I've been avoiding it... I'm not sure why, just procrastinating I guess. I found out some good stuff and some bad while I was there.
First, I was happy to find out that I've planned this baby pretty well (yeah... PLANNED sure, we'll go with that story!). I have 35 sick/personal days that I've earned over the last 5 years of working w/my district. The good news is I will only need to use 32 of these to complete my maternity leave, wich means I will get paid the whole time I'm off. That's a good thing. I also was smart enough to sign up for short term dissability at some point, so they will also be kicking down a little cash my way.
The bad news is that to add baby to my health insurance they will need to take $300 per paycheck for the rest of the year... that's not 300 a MONTH, but 300 every TWO WEEKS! I'm not sure about anyone else, but well that's not really do-able on my income! Now it's my job to hunt down some independent insurance for my kidd. I feel like a complete idiot when people talk about insurance! I'm getting better, but I still have to have things explained a billion times! Knowing I'm responsible for making sure he's covered if anything should happen is a little more pressure than I want.

I also found out yesterday that the carseat (infant carrier) that we were planning on using for the baby is EXPIRED! Who knew car seats had expiration dates? Not me! I thought as long as it wasn't in an accident, and it was in good shape, why not??? Well, I guess I was wrong, it happens sometimes. So most of last night I was trying to find an inexpensive option online. Only later did I realize that ordering online MAY not get it here in time... It probably would, but I can't really deal with probably at this point. So instead, I spent my day (after the District office and the DMV-another story!) going from one Target to another trying to see what my options were. I think by Target #3 I was pretty sick of the whole process, and ended up buying a carseat and a stroller. Lucky for me Dave liked it when I got home, so we put it together, and NOW I have something to bring this baby home in. I do find it really interesting that each Target I went to had different prices, and different seats. One Target had a travel system for $189, and the other Target had the exact same system on clearance for $120? It makes me think that all of my driving was worth it!

I am glad I got so much accomplished today, I think maybe tomorrow I won't get out of bed. Ok so I will, but NOT early. Now all I need to do is find a pair of sweatpants... that's been on my list for a few weeks now, it still hasn't happened. Today I tried on two pair @ Old Navy and they were both a size too big, and of course they didn't have any left in the smaller size. I want them for after the baby is born. They barely stayed up on my watermelon sized belly, by the time the baby comes out and it gets a tiny bit smaller, they would have ended up somewhere around my thighs=(. So I suppose I will just keep looking. Either that, Or I will wear my PJ's home from the hospital =). My poor baby, so small and already being embarassed by his mother in public!
